How It All Began

I have always loved to burn candles in my home. There is nothing quite as soothing, mesmerizing and relaxing as a glowing candle after a long day at work. Several years ago, I noticed that my ceilings were beginning to blacken. I began reading about the hidden toxins and carcinogens that existed in many candles, including some of the most popular and expensive brands.  

After extensive research, I determined that soy-based candles were much safer for my family, my home and the environment. I became intrigued with the idea of making my own soy-based candles and began experimenting at home. It has taken years of experimentation to determine the best wax, wicks, oils, glass containers, equipment and temperature needed to make an outstanding non-toxic hand-poured candle. I also loved the idea of using upcycled products whenever I could - wine bottles, jelly jars and mason jars. 

What began as a way to protect my family has since turned into a passion for creating a handmade, high-quality product for all to safely enjoy. It was that passion and love that shaped the creation of ComMen Scents Candle Company of Cape Cod.
